208 | Helping Children and Youth Navigate Healthy Sexual Integrity

Many faith-based homes have struggled to teach healthy sexual integrity, leaving kids with mixed messages, while today’s culture only complicates the issue. Research shows that the more positive, valued-centered sex education young people receive at home, the less confusion will take place about sexuality, and these kids are less likely to engage in promiscuous behavior. In this workshop, licensed mental health professionals, ministry leaders, and coaches will recognize how to effectively communicate healthy sexual integrity to young people, emphasizing the importance of love, understanding, empathy, and care. Participants will analyze the impact of both secular and faith-based viewpoints on today’s youth, addressing the mixed messages that many children receive about sexuality. With a focus on the developmental process, participants will identify practical strategies for talking to young people about sexuality in ways that align with faith-based biblical values. By the end of the session, participants will have distinguished how to help young people understand identity, how one is loved unconditionally, and called to live with sexual integrity.
