Mental health professionals and ministry leaders frequently encounter clients with complex issues, resistant behaviors, or difficult dispositions, often as a result of past trauma. These clients may present with a range xof challenges, including complex diagnoses and trauma-related issues, which require a specialized approach. In these cases, therapists must draw on evidence-based therapeutic techniques, skills, and interventions to mitigate the risk of negative outcomes and foster positive progress in therapy. Additionally, recognizing one’s own competence, education, and expertise is essential for ensuring that participants remain effective when working with this population, thus preventing burnout and frustration. This workshop will provide mental health professionals and ministry leaders with a comprehensive understanding of how to apply both evidence-based practices and biblical principles for willing Chrisitan clients to support positive therapeutic outcomes. Participants will learn strategies for effectively engaging with clients who present with complex psychological needs, ensuring that their interventions are both clinically and spiritually supportive.
