Summary

Executive leadership coaching is a dynamic, one-on-one partnership where the coach and client collaborate to assess developmental needs and co-create goals for effective leadership. Unlike traditional methods that rely on checklists or generalized approaches, this process encourages leaders to tap into their own experiences and inner resources to drive meaningful change. While coaching is becoming increasingly popular, leaders often face limiting beliefs that hinder an ability to fully engage in the coaching relationship. In this workshop, ministry leaders and coaches will recognize the importance of the coach’s ability to foster a safe space through curiosity and humble inquiry, which are essential to a successful coaching session. Participants will identify a leader’s unique needs in the coaching space and distinguish key coaching presence skills that effectively engage leaders. Additionally, ministry leaders and coaches will assess practical tools to demonstrate a coaching presence that encourages self-awareness and positive transformation through curiosity and humble inquiry.

Learning Objectives

1 Identify the specific developmental needs of leaders within the coaching space.
2 Differentiate the key coaching presence skills, including curiosity and humble inquiry, that are essential for effectively engaging leaders.
3 Assess a coaching presence that fosters self-awareness, trust, and positive transformation through curiosity and humble inquiry.
