Summary

Summary:

In this three-hour advanced EMDR class, the principles and theories of faith-based, nature-informed therapy are interwoven with Phases 1 and 2 of EMDR. In Phase 1 of EMDR, the client’s history of traumatizing and adaptive experiences in nature is gathered: happy and scared experiences in the natural world. Working with nature is useful in Phase II of EMDR. The natural world offers a limitless supply of soft and inspiring moments, which easily add to the adaptive memory networks; in particular, a sense of awe and a deepening of faith can be experienced. Using nature in Phase II, resourcing via nature to enhance faith is practiced in large-group and small-group formats. Lastly, ideas and designs for accessing nature more in your life and bringing added nature to your clients’ lives are explored and shared. Participants will receive 3 Advanced EMDRIA Continuing Education Credits.
