Summary

In marriage, many focus on popular intimacy techniques (date nights, hobbies, vacations, traditions) to create connection. However, the true foundation of a thriving marriage is safety and security. When spouses feel secure, relaxation will take place and open up the opportunity for deeper connections. Psychologists, licensed mental health professionals, and ministry leaders will evaluate biblical principles, particularly passages like Joel 2:12-13, for Christian clients to build a marriage that feels like the safest place on earth. Participants will recognize practical strategies to foster an environment of emotional safety and security, where communication is open, and hearts are free to connect. Participants will identify tools for enhancing empathy, understanding, and patience will be provided to help couples navigate challenges and strengthen their bond. By the end of the session, participants will assess how to guide couples toward deeper intimacy by creating a nurturing space for vulnerability, openness, and lasting marital connection, grounded in mutual safety and understanding.
