Summary

Summary:

A buzzword in mental health currently is narcissism, but this term has a more significant meaning. This workshop will bring clear information to psychologists, licensed mental health professionals, coaches, and ministry leaders regarding the definition, symptoms, types, and other valuable intricacy of narcissism. The presenter will discuss the complexities of narcissism and how it is best considered as being on a spectrum, which is often overlooked. A specific focus of this workshop is to evaluate one’s concept of the vulnerable narcissistic patterns of behavior that are usually subtle but just as debilitating as any overt narcissist. Discussions amongst participants will take place regarding myths and misunderstandings of narcissism, narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), and the uniqueness of the vulnerable narcissist. Furthermore, participants will expand their understanding of how a client with NPD affects those around them, even to the point of engaging in narcissistic abuse, and the best treatment options for this disorder and those affected.
