Summary

Summary:

Amid the most devastating drug epidemic in history, developing a comprehensive, church-based, Christ-centered response for connecting to and treating individuals suffering from substance use disorders has never been more important! In this pre-conference workshop, the science and symptomology of addiction will be examined and explored, along with the impact substance use has on family systems. Treatment options and strategies, including the Recovery Alive 12-step recovery model, will be introduced with thorough instructions on how to design, launch, and grow a fully integrated recovery lay ministry within a local church or community organization. This workshop is designed for psychologists, licensed mental health professionals, coaches, and ministry leaders, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to integrate faith-based approaches into substance use disorder treatment.
